Datsun 240Z rally car, year 1973. Chassis (VIN) number HLS30-144956, engine number L28-400055. Exterior colour orange red with a semi-gloss (anti-glare) bonnet combined with a black rally interior. Black Recaro bucket seats, black head lining and black carpet. This fabulous Datsun 240Z was perfectly prepared for historic rally events. The car feels solid as a rock and it drives, steers and feels super sporty! The seats offer ample support and comfort for long driving sessions. The automobile was sold new in California USA and was imported to the Netherlands in 2010. Then the car was extensively rally prepared by Dutch specialists including Altena Classic & Rally Service. The car was finished in the 1971 Datsun safari rally look. The car is now fitted with a Datsun 280Z engine delivering 160 bhp and 230 Nm torque. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed gearbox and a limited slip differential. The interior is perfectly prepared, and the seats offer enough room for tall people. A full roll cage and electric four-point safety belts keep the passengers safe in any situation. This fantastic Datsun 240Z drives and sounds perfectly and the car was perfectly serviced over the years. This rally car is in a very good to excellent condition with some traces of previous use to be found. Only on the far lower edge of the driver’s door some corrosion bubbling is to be found in the paint. The build and preparation of the car have cost about € 80.000, all the invoices are present giving a perfect overview of the works done. A list of modifications and options is presented below.
