Horex

Founded in 1923 as Horex-Fahrbau AG by Fritz Kleemann (1901–1975) in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Hesse, the company operated as Horex-Columbus-Werk KG from 1935 to the mid-1950s, and later as Horex-Werke KG. Due to financial difficulties, Horex ceased motorcycle production in 1956. In 1960, Daimler-Benz took over the plant.

In 2010, Horex was refounded and headquartered in Augsburg. In August 2014, owner Clemens Neese filed for bankruptcy proceedings. The Horex brand was acquired by 3C-Carbon Composite Company GmbH in January 2015.
