It had been a decades-long tradition at Mercedes-Benz to have a large representation car in the programme. Finally, in April 1951, the Type 300 was presented at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt. The experts were impressed by the modern technology and perfect workmanship. The appearance was conservative, but in keeping with the spirit of the times. Further development led to the 300 c from September 1955 and there was again a large, four-door convertible. This car had no parallels in German car manufacturing. There were only 51 hand-built examples of the 300 c model. This makes it one of the rare Mercedes types. Our Mercedes-Benz 300 c Cabriolet D comes from the USA and is now part of a German collection. The classic car was partially restored, i.e. sheet metal work was done, paint, interior and the soft top are new. The technology was good, so only everything was checked and some service work had to be done. These classic cars, often called “Adenauer”, have enough power and can be used on many trips. Whether alone, as a couple or as a foursome, comfort and plenty of space are assured.
