This year, the BHGP organization will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the BUGATTI Type 40, paying homage to Bergamo-born driver Giulio Foresti, who raced for the Italian-French manufacturer in the 1920s and 1930s.
On the sublime 3-kilometer medieval city circuit, we will see several models of this magnificent car, built between 1926 and 1930, whizz by.
This model was equipped with a 1,496-cubic-centimeter, four-cylinder engine with a single overhead camshaft and three valves per cylinder.
It was essentially the same engine as the Type 37 racing car, but with a lower compression ratio.
This is the first of the many new features that will characterize the Bergamo Historic GP.
As every year, a limited number of 80 historic cars will be admitted, divided into the Single-Seater/Pre-War, GTS/Sport Prototypes, and 50 Vintage Motorcycles (Derived from and GP) categories.
