The original Land Rover is one of the most recognisable silhouettes in automotive history. Designed and engineered in 1948 with no compromises on aesthetics, it was born to be a 'workhorse', but its design has become iconic.
This 1973 Series III is a 109 version and has been completely restored by House of Cool in Portugal. The Cascais-based company has managed to maintain the characteristic simplicity of a Land Rover while improving and modernizing the driving experience.
The chassis and suspension have been completely rebuilt, with new and improved components and the 2.3 Diesel engine has been rebuilt for longevity and reliability. Power steering is a welcome addition, making driving a pleasure.
But it's on the 'surface' that this Land Rover stands out. The bodywork has been painted in Mid Grey, an elementary and original Land Rover colour, which contrasts with the traditional black hood and the interior completely lined in brown Alcantara.
The 'Safari' style top and frame can be completely removed, creating a true convertible and exposing the fluorescent red painted cargo box!
