The 1930 Lagonda 3 Litre Open Tourer is an impressive example of British automotive artistry and embodies the essence of the pre-war era. Lagonda, founded in 1906 by the American engineer Wilbur Gunn, quickly made a name for itself with its high-quality and powerful vehicles. The 3-litre engine was a masterpiece of engineering, known for its reliability and impressive performance.
This Lagonda 3 Litre Open Tourer, offered on behalf of a client, was built as an Open Tourer in 1930 and delivered to the Island of Jersey. In 1935, the car returned to England and received a Registration Book and a new number plate. In the vehicle's 94-year history, only the first 18 years are incomplete.
The car has been in the current owner's possession since 1980. During this time, various restoration and maintenance works have been carried out, which are well documented.
According to the Lagonda Club, 58 Lagonda 3 Litres still exist. Only a small fraction of these were built as Open Tourers and have survived with their original bodywork.
This Lagonda 3 Litre Open Tourer comes with a registration certificate (Declaration for License and Application and Registration Book) as well as a German vehicle registration document. The most recent available appraisal is from 2016, in which the vehicle was rated 1-.
