Gilera was an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded by Giuseppe Gellera in 1909. Acquired in 1969 by the Piaggio group, with the closure of the Arcore production center - which occurred in 1993 - and the transfer to the Piaggio factory in Pontedera, it gradually became a department, and then a brand of the group, active with production under its own name until 2020 and today unused.
