Solex was a mechanical engineering company founded in 1906 by Maurice Goudard (1881-1948) and Marcel Mennesson (1884-1976), fellows of the École Centrale Paris, known for the manufacture of carburetors. The Solex name has also been linked to the VéloSoleX mopeds and the Solex pneumatic micrometers, both produced by companies that were offshoots of the main activity of carburetor construction.
