Velocette is a range of motorcycles manufactured by Veloce Ltd, in Hall Green, Birmingham, England. One of Birmingham's numerous motorcycle manufacturers, Velocette was a small family-run business, which sold almost as many hand-built motorcycles during its lifetime as mass-produced machines from giants BSA and Norton. Renowned for the quality of its products, the company was "always at the forefront" of international motorcycle racing from the mid-1920s through the 1950s, culminating in two world championship titles (1949-1950 350cc) and his legendary and still unbeaten (for 500cc single-cylinder machines) 24-hour record at over 100 mph (161 km/h).
